Primary Purpose:

Provide students with appropriate learning activities, instruction, supervision, and classroom support by implementing lesson plans and instructional activities as directed by the classroom teacher, principal, or other designated staff. Long-term substitute assignments may include additional instructional planning, student assessment, and classroom management responsibilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

May direct the work of assigned instructional aides, paraprofessionals, or volunteers when applicable.

Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment; classroom technology and educational software.

 

Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.

 

Motion: Frequent walking and movement throughout the classroom and campus.

 

Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move instructional materials and classroom equipment.

 

Environment: Work inside and occasionally outside; regular exposure to noise and active student environments.

 

Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; ability to work prolonged or irregular hours as needed.
